About Five Diamond Detailers

The partners of Five Diamond Detailers, Amon Huffman and Ed Anderson, have been buddies since the age of 4 and actually grew up on the same street in Irving, Texas. After spending some time in Austin, Texas for their undergraduate studies, they moved to San Diego in 2003 and started Five Diamond Detailers in 2005. They came up with the name Five Diamond Detailers because both spent a number of years working at Five Diamond hotels and resorts while putting themselves through school and believe the training and experience they received in that industry has played a large role in the company’s growth.

Before moving to San Diego, Ed made a pit stop in Salt Lake City, Utah where he received his MBA from the University of Utah and satisfied his powder needs by working a Snowbird. Amon spent a year in Wynnewood, Oklahoma where he helped his mother Ruth Huffman start American Buffalo Designs. Ruth designed and patented the process for converting the hair of the American buffalo into yarn and it is the first and only complete buffalo hair processing plant in the world.
